We are looking for a full-time Veterinary Surgeon to work across our 2 sites at White Cross Vets St Helens and White Cross Vets Widnes.  While we’d prefer a colleague who’s got a bit of experience, we believe that everyone has skills and knowledge they can bring to enhance our team.

The Team

We are a team of 8 experienced vets, with a range of certificates holders, including 2 medicine (and another working towards), surgery, imaging, GP and ophthalmology.  The amazing nursing teams also hold multiple certificates between them, including behaviour, anaesthesia, surgery and consulting.  We’re a very progressive practice and would actively support anyone wanting to advance their clinical career.

As a team we love discussing clinical cases together, working cases up in house where we can and having a collaborative, team approach to our days. We have monthly Wellbeing afternoons where we close the diary and spend some time together as a team, in the past we’ve done inhouse pub quiz’s, sports day competitions, cooked Christmas dinner and done our own bake off!

The Practices

We have 2 well equipped practices with fun tools including new ultrasound machines, DR x-ray, IM3 dental processor, Tonopen, slit lamp and in house lab machines.

The Rota

Our normal working week is 40 hours spread over 4 days, with a share of Saturday mornings (currently 1 in 4) and time given by in lieu during the week.  The ideal candidate would work 2 set days a week at each clinic, ensuring continuity for cases and clients.  You will have set operating and consulting days, the number of these vary on personal preference and skills.
