Roving Veterinary Surgeon – Small Animal
Dublin | Multi-site role across established practices
Permanent opportunity with genuine flexibility
Full-time, part-time or fully flexible contracts available
Salary up to €55,000 DOE plus €10,000 annual roving allowance (FTE), paid monthly
A Smarter Alternative to Locum Work
If you enjoy the variety and autonomy of locum life but are ready for more stability, progression and long-term security, this role offers the best of both worlds. As a Roving Veterinary Surgeon with IVC Evidensia, you’ll have the freedom to work across multiple high-quality practices in Dublin, while benefiting from a permanent contract, a consistent salary, funded certificates and CPD with an excellent benefits package.
This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced GP vet who wants flexibility without uncertainty, and variety without compromise on standards or support.
A Role Built Around Your Lifestyle
This position is designed to flex around you. Whether you’re looking for full-time hours, a four-day week, or a more tailored working pattern, we’ll shape the contract to suit your lifestyle and commitments.
You’ll be part of a trusted Dublin roving team, supporting established practices when they need experienced clinical cover. You’ll step into well-run clinics with strong nursing support, clear workflows and teams who genuinely value having you there
The Clinical Work
You’ll work as a first-opinion small animal GP across a range of well-equipped Dublin practices, including Anicare, Ark Vetcare, Raheny, Shenick and others within the group. Your focus will remain firmly on clinical work: consultations, routine surgery, thorough medical work-ups and continuity of care for patients.
Because you’re joining experienced, supportive teams, you can concentrate on delivering high-quality medicine rather than firefighting operational issues. This is a hands-on, clinically satisfying role with real variety and professional respect. There may be sole charge shifts from time to time.
Support, Development and Progression
Alongside the roving allowance, this role comes with full access to IVC Evidensia’s clinical support network, internal referrals, funded certificates and ongoing development opportunities. If you’re interested in progressing clinically or exploring leadership in the future, this role provides excellent exposure and a strong platform to do so.
Is This the Right Fit for You?
This role suits an experienced small animal veterinary surgeon who is confident in GP consultations, routine surgery and independent clinical decision-making. You’ll enjoy adapting to different teams and environments, and value flexibility, balance and high standards of care.
This role is not suited to graduate-level vets or those requiring support in routine first opinion practice.

We’d love to talk through what flexibility looks like for you and explore whether this could be the right next step.
