If you’re looking for a role where you can focus on delivering high-quality clinical care, work with a genuinely supportive team, and enjoy a varied caseload without out-of-hours demands - this could be the perfect fit.
Raheny Veterinary Hospital is a long-established, community-focused practice with a strong reputation, now entering an exciting new phase with a full refurbishment of our facilities. This is a great opportunity to join a practice that blends clinical standards, continuity of care, and a positive working environment.
This position offers a balanced mix of consulting, surgery, and case management within a busy first opinion clinic. You’ll work across a varied caseload, with time and support to thoroughly work up cases and deliver excellent patient outcomes.
Your week will include a combination of consultation and surgical days, typically between 9:00am and 5:00pm, with some longer shifts incorporated into the rota. Protected time is built into the diary for admin, case follow-ups, and clinical discussions, allowing you to manage your workload effectively.
There is no out-of-hours or on-call requirement, and weekend work is shared fairly across the team.
We are a well-equipped and progressive practice, currently undergoing a full renovation to further enhance both our clinical capabilities and working environment.
Our facilities include diagnostic imaging, ultrasound, dental X-ray, endoscopy, and a full IDEXX in-house laboratory. With dedicated surgical and dental suites and separate wards, we’re set up to deliver a high standard of care across both routine and more complex cases.
We actively encourage thorough case work-ups, continuity of care, and the development of individual clinical interests, particularly in surgery and diagnostics.
What truly sets Raheny apart is our team. We are friendly, collaborative, and supportive, with a strong emphasis on communication and teamwork.
You’ll be joining a team that values high clinical standards while also recognising the importance of a positive and sustainable working environment - where people support each other and enjoy coming to work.
We’re seeking an experienced, VCI registered veterinary surgeon who is confident managing a varied caseload and enjoys both medical and surgical work.
You’ll be a strong communicator, a team player, and someone who thrives in a collaborative setting. An interest in surgery or a particular clinical area would be a bonus, but most importantly, you’ll bring a positive attitude and commitment to excellent patient and client care.
Please note: this role is not suitable for new graduates or those requiring close day-to-day mentorship.
We are ideally looking for a full-time vet working a 4-day week, but we are open to discussing part-time or flexible options for the right candidate. We aim to accommodate individual preferences where possible, balanced with the needs of the clinic.
We believe in investing in our people. In addition to a competitive salary and a long-term, stable role, you’ll benefit from:
6.4 weeks annual leave, inclusive on bank holidays
Additional holiday entitlement for your birthday
Paid maternity, paternity, and adoptive leave packages
Cycle to Work Scheme
Company Sick Pay & Bereavement Leave
Access to EAP & Wellbeing Centre
€1300 annual CPD allowance with 40 hours paid CPD leave
