At inspiring vet care, our people are at the heart of everything we do. As the UK’s number one vet care provider, we're trusted with the care of over 2 million animals, delivering our purpose of healthier animals and happier owners.

Wilton House Veterinary Clinic is looking for an experienced Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon to join our friendly and highly collaborative team in a senior clinical capacity. This is an exciting opportunity for a confident clinician looking to take the next step in their career, combining a varied and rewarding caseload with the opportunity to support and mentor less experienced colleagues, while remaining focused on clinical practice rather than management responsibilities.

You'll be joining a supportive team that genuinely values collaboration, continuity of care, and high clinical standards. Working alongside certificate holders in Cardiology, Small Animal Surgery and Small Animal Medicine, you'll have the opportunity to discuss cases, continue developing your own clinical interests, and help support and mentor our new graduate and less experienced colleagues.

Our caseload is diverse and engaging, with patients including cats, dogs, rabbits, small furries, occasional exotic species and backyard chickens. We encourage our vets to work cases up thoroughly and provide the clinical freedom to pursue areas of interest, whether that's surgery, medicine, dentistry, ECC or another passion. You'll enjoy a rewarding mix of consultations and surgery, with exposure to everything from routine procedures through to advanced dentistry, orthopaedic surgery and emergency presentations.

Practice Highlights

  • Senior clinical role with no management responsibilities
  • Work alongside certificate holders in Cardiology, Small Animal Surgery and Small Animal Medicine
  • Diverse first-opinion caseload including cats, dogs, rabbits, small furries, exotics and occasional poultry
  • Excellent balance of consulting, surgery, inpatient care and case continuity
  • Exposure to advanced dentistry, orthopaedics and emergency and critical care cases
  • Modern facilities including a dedicated theatre, separate prep area, digital radiography, dental x-ray and a new ultrasound scanner
  • Separate cat ward, isolation facilities and excellent staff amenities
  • Part of a supportive three-practice network alongside our Stokesley and Copeland clinics, offering additional clinical support and expertise
  • Dedicated Practice Director supporting all three sites, with access to experienced Clinical Directors across the wider group
  • Friendly, highly experienced nursing and client care team with a strong culture of teamwork and knowledge sharing

How You'll Make a Difference

As a Senior Veterinary Surgeon, you'll play a key role in delivering exceptional patient care while supporting the development of the wider clinical team.

Alongside managing a varied first-opinion caseload, you'll act as an experienced clinical presence within the practice, helping to support recent graduates and less experienced colleagues through mentoring, case discussion and collaborative working.

  • Manage and work up medical and surgical cases to a high clinical standard
