We’re looking for a great equine vet to join our team as an Ambulatory Veterinary Surgeon. Our You will have the opportunity to work with a talented team of experienced veterinary professionals and utilise state-of-the-art equipment to provide exceptional care for your patients. Our ambulatory vets are supported by a large team of specialists, residents and interns at our hospital, whilst having a wide range of equine clientele from leading show jumpers to child’s first pony. All classes of horse are cared for.
About us
Pool House Equine Hospital is a first opinion and referral practice that’s part of the IVC Evidensia Equine Group. We’re an accredited tier 3 hospital, located in Fradley near Lichfield. We’re only a short drive from the Derbyshire Dales and the Peak District National Park. Our location offers easy access to the motorway network, two main line railway stations and Birmingham International Airport; Lichfield is almost literally the centre of England.
The Equine Hospital is composed of GA operating and standing theatres, preparation areas/knock down, DR digital X ray, examination/radiography rooms and stocks. There is stabling for up to 34 horses. As an ambulatory Vet you will be equipped with a range of modern mobile equipment such as digital X - Ray, ultrasound, shock wave, digital gastroscope and fibreoptic endoscopes, just to name a few. We also have an in-house laboratory covering an extensive range of tests, along with excellent practice support including ERVN. The equine veterinary team consists of several professionals with advanced certificates and diplomat status that includes, equine surgery, dentistry, medicine, diagnostic imaging and sports horse medicine and rehabilitation, along with a dedicated team of receptionists, yard and administrative staff to support you with your day to day duties.
Hours that work for you
We’re in a position to consider applicants who are looking for full or part time hours. We offer a great work life balance to suit your lifestyle. Most importantly we want someone to join our team who cares as much as we do about our clients, their animals, the wider team and our community. A typical full-time role would require you to work 40 hours per week, Monday – Friday (08:30 – 17:00), along with the OOHs rota. Having said that, we’re able to consider different working patterns to support both full and part time candidates.
