Salary Up To £75,000 FTE DOE

Kingston Vets has been part of the local community for over 100 years and continues to grow as a trusted, forward-thinking practice. We are now looking for a senior Veterinary Surgeon to join our team, someone who is ready to lead, inspire and help shape the future of our small animal services.

Lead, Influence and Make Your Mark

This role is ideal for a confident and experienced vet who enjoys clinical leadership and wants to play a key role in driving the small animal side of the business forward. You will support and mentor graduate vets, share knowledge and set high clinical standards, while still remaining hands-on in practice and involved in day-to-day case work.

Clinical Variety with True Case Ownership

Our caseload includes cats, dogs, rabbits and small furries, with a strong emphasis on case continuity and working cases up to a high standard. You will enjoy a balanced mix of consultations and surgery, with most procedures being routine alongside a healthy volume of orthopaedics, dental procedures, splenectomies and a wide range of other interesting cases.

Two Purpose-Built Sites, One High Standard of Care

Kingston Vets operates across two modern, purpose-built small animal practices in Yeovil and Sherborne. You will work between both sites and have access to excellent facilities including dental suites with dental X-ray, digital radiography, ultrasound, laparoscopic equipment, and separate cat and dog wards with isolation facilities. We are proud to hold Silver ISFM status and place a strong focus on feline-friendly care.

A Working Pattern That Supports Balance

We are ideally looking for a full-time vet to work 40 hours across four days per week, including one in three Saturday mornings from 8:30am to 12:30pm. There is no out-of-hours or on-call work. Part-time applications are welcomed and can be discussed to suit the right candidate.

A Supportive, Skilled Team Around You

You will be joining a friendly and experienced team of six vets, six RVNs, two SVNs and a dedicated client care team. We also work closely with a visiting orthopaedic specialist, allowing excellent support for more complex cases. Ongoing learning is actively encouraged, and we are very open to supporting certificates or further training aligned with your interests.

Life in Yeovil, Sherborne and the Surrounding Area

Yeovil and Sherborne offer a wonderful balance of rural charm and everyday convenience. Surrounded by rolling countryside, historic market towns and beautiful walking routes, the area is ideal for those who enjoy outdoor living and a slower pace without feeling isolated. Sherborne’s historic architecture and shops sit perfectly alongside Yeovil’s amenities and transport links, making this a fantastic location for both work and lifestyle.
