Are you a veterinary surgeon with a passion for delivering gold-standard care and building lasting relationships with clients? At Abington Park Vets, we take pride in providing exceptional service to our loyal client base, and we’re looking for a dedicated vet to join our friendly and supportive team.

A Practice Where You Can Thrive

At our Abington practice, you’ll have access to outstanding facilities, including a dedicated dental suite with digital X-ray, two orthopaedic operating theatres, a first-opinion operating theatre, three dog wards, a separate cattery, and a fully equipped in-house laboratory with a dedicated lab manager. Our advanced imaging capabilities include on-site CT, visiting MRI, ultrasonography, digital X-ray, and a fluoroscopy room.

While we primarily see dogs and cats, we also welcome a variety of small furries, lizards, and birds, making every day different and exciting. As part of our first-opinion team, you’ll work closely with our experienced referral veterinary surgeons, who hold certificates in a range of small animal disciplines, giving you the clinical independence to develop your skills with expert support.
Your role will be mainly focused on consultations, with around a quarter of your time spent in surgery. If you have a strong interest in medicine, we’re happy to consider a consult-only role. We handle a variety of routine surgeries as well as more advanced procedures, including exploratory laparotomies, splenectomies, thyroidectomies, and a wide range of amputations. Our referral cases include TPLOs, total hip replacements, and complex thoracic and abdominal surgeries, all managed in-house, meaning you can follow cases through without external referrals. With such a diverse caseload and expert colleagues to support you, this is the perfect place to grow your skills and pursue advanced qualifications.

Our talented nursing team plays an essential role in our practice, running their own clinics for nail clipping, anal gland expression, second vaccinations, repeat injections, flea and worm treatments, health checks, admissions, and discharges, allowing our vets to focus on their clinical work.

A Supportive Team That Encourages Growth

Across our Abington and Moulton practices, we have a fantastic team of 59 professionals, including certificate holders in Surgery, Dentistry and Oral Surgery, and Internal Medicine, as well as a visiting specialist in Cardiology. We actively encourage further development and offer full support to those looking to pursue a certificate.

Our Moulton hospital underwent an extension a few years ago, allowing us to expand our services and better support our clients. Our out-of-hours care is provided by Vets Now, based at our Moulton hospital, ensuring our team enjoys a good work-life balance.
As a practice, we are passionate about giving back and support numerous charities, including Guide Dogs for the Blind, Dogs Trust, RSPCA, Blue Cross, and many more.
