Fairview Veterinary Hospital offers an exciting opportunity for a Veterinary Surgeon with a passion for internal medicine and/or diagnostic imaging to develop their own clinical niche within a supportive, forward-thinking team. As a well-established practice with a strong local reputation, we are committed to investing not only in equipment but also in the people who will help shape our future clinical offering.
You’ll join a collaborative team of three vets and two support staff who value open communication, mutual support, and maintaining a positive working environment. The practice culture encourages growth, innovation, and flexibility.
This role is ideal for a vet who is keen to expand their expertise in internal medicine or diagnostic imaging while still contributing to a varied first-opinion caseload. You will have the opportunity to develop advanced diagnostic capabilities, manage more complex medical cases, and gradually build your own caseload, including potential referral work within the practice.
We are particularly interested in someone motivated to grow this area of the clinic, and we are open to supporting you through further training, equipment investment, and structured career development.
You must be VCI registered and have solid experience in first-opinion small animal practice. A strong clinical foundation is essential, alongside a genuine interest in developing your skills in internal medicine or imaging. You should be proactive, motivated, and excited by the opportunity to shape your own clinical pathway within a GP setting, while maintaining excellent standards of patient and client care.
The role is based on a 40-hour working week with a combination of 8am–5pm and 10am–7pm shifts, plus one in three Saturdays from 10am to 2pm. There are no out-of-hours commitments. We are happy to offer flexibility within the rota to help support your work-life balance.
This is a role where your development is truly prioritised. Alongside a €1,300 annual CPD allowance and five days of paid CPD leave, we offer full funding for certificates, diplomas, or further qualifications aligned with your interests. Importantly, we are also committed to investing in the equipment and resources needed to support your clinical ambitions, particularly in diagnostic imaging.
You will receive a comprehensive benefits package including:
22 Days Annual Leave
Birthday Leave (paid day off on your birthday)
Paid Maternity Leave Package
Paid Paternity Leave
Cycle to Work Scheme
Full access to EAP and Wellbeing Centre
Paid Bereavement Leave
Company Sick Pay
