Salary up to £41,000 DOE
The team at Haydon is looking for a part-time Veterinary Surgeon to join our welcoming practice in Bridport. This is an opportunity to be part of a close-knit team where collaboration, kindness and enjoyment of the job are valued just as highly as clinical standards.
A Varied Caseload With Room to Grow
Our patients include cats, dogs, rabbits, small furries and even the occasional chicken, bringing plenty of variety to each day. You’ll enjoy a balanced mix of medicine and surgery within a progressive environment, with encouragement to pursue your own clinical interests.
Our experienced nursing team is incredibly hands-on, supporting all areas of the practice so you can focus on delivering excellent patient care. We also run our own ambulance service for house visits, alongside a nurse-led community visiting service, allowing us to stay closely connected to the local community.
Interesting Surgery in a Well-Equipped Practice
We are a purpose-built, single-site practice located close to the town centre. Surgical work is varied, ranging from routine procedures through to more advanced cases such as splenectomies, TPLOs and orthopaedics.
With an on-site laboratory, digital X-ray, ultrasound and a modern operating theatre including laparoscopy, we’re able to carry out the majority of diagnostics and procedures in-house, giving you excellent case continuity and clinical satisfaction.
Flexible Hours With Real Balance
This is a part-time role, ideally working two full days per week (Tuesday, Wednesday or Friday), along with a 1 in 4 Saturday morning rota of just three hours.
There are no out-of-hours or on-call commitments, and there may be opportunities to pick up additional hours if desired.
A Team You’ll Feel Proud to Join
You’ll be working alongside three vets, five RVNs, one SVN and a dedicated client care team. Within the practice, we have certificate holders in surgery, medicine and cardiology, and we’re very open to supporting vets who wish to pursue a certificate of their own. The culture here is one of encouragement, shared learning and genuine support.
