At inspiring vet care, our people are at the heart of everything we do. As the UK’s number one vet care provider, we're trusted with the care of over 2 million animals, delivering our purpose of healthier animals and happier owners.
Beech House Vets, part of the IVC Evidensia network, is looking for a confident Veterinary Surgeon to join our friendly and supportive team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a vet who values building long-term client relationships and taking ownership of their cases. With Vets Now providing the out-of-hours service from the practice, you'll benefit from excellent case continuity and the ability to follow cases from presentation through to diagnosis, treatment and recovery. Supported by a loyal client base, you'll have the time, resources and clinical freedom to work cases up thoroughly while delivering exceptional patient care.
You'll enjoy a rewarding mix of consultations, medical investigations and surgery throughout the week, including a dedicated surgery day.
Our caseload offers far more than routine first-opinion practice. Alongside everyday procedures and preventative healthcare, we also perform advanced surgeries including TECA procedures, cruciate repairs, maxillectomies and emergency and critical care work. This variety provides an exciting and fulfilling role for a vet looking to further develop their clinical and surgical skills.
Beech House Vets is well-equipped with the tools needed to deliver high-quality patient care and thorough case work-ups.
Facilities include piped Isoflurane anaesthesia, digital radiography, ultrasound, ECG with both in-house and external interpretation, K-Laser therapy, an air-driven dental suite and a fully equipped laboratory capable of comprehensive biochemistry and haematology testing. The practice is also exploring investment in additional orthopaedic equipment, further enhancing our surgical capabilities.
You'll be joining a close-knit team of six Veterinary Surgeons and six Registered Veterinary Nurses, supported by two Student Veterinary Nurses, an Animal Care Assistant and a dedicated Client Care Team. Our Lead Vet holds certificates in both Small Animal Surgery. We are passionate about professional development and welcome vets who are keen to pursue further qualifications.
Support is available for certificates, and we would be particularly interested in speaking with candidates who have an interest in cardiology or ophthalmology, although this is by no means essential.
Our vets enjoy a four-day working week, with a 1 in 4 Saturday mornings 8:30am - 12pm. Saturday shifts are sole charge, providing excellent autonomy, but there are no out-of-hours requirements and no on-call commitments. We are also happy to consider part-time applications from 20 hours per week.
