
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Equine House Vet to join our large multidisciplinary equine referral hospital. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a highly experienced team of specialists and clinicians managing a diverse and challenging caseload across medicine, surgery, lameness, diagnostic imaging, intensive care, and emergency services.
The role is ideally suited to a vet looking to further develop their clinical skills in a busy hospital environment while gaining exposure to advanced referral-level equine practice.

As a Veterinary Intern, you will gain valuable exposure to a referral or advanced clinical environment, working collaboratively with experienced veterinary surgeons, nurses, and support teams to deliver high-quality patient and client care.
This role is designed to support your clinical development, build confidence in managing more complex cases, and deepen your understanding of evidence-based veterinary medicine. You’ll actively participate in ward rounds, case discussions, and clinical governance activities, while being supported by senior clinicians and mentors.
Responsibilities include:
Management and monitoring of hospitalised equine patients
Assisting with emergency admissions and intensive care cases
Supporting surgical, medical, and diagnostic procedures
Participation in anaesthesia support and perioperative care
Involvement in lameness evaluations and diagnostic imaging cases
Communication with owners and referring veterinarians
Accurate clinical record keeping and case management
Participation in the out-of-hours and weekend rota
Facilities Include:
Full surgical suite and recovery facilities
Advanced diagnostic imaging (MRI, standing CT, scintigraphy, digital radiography, ultrasonography, endoscopy)
On-site laboratory
You are a motivated and enthusiastic veterinary surgeon who is keen to develop their clinical skills within a supportive referral or advanced-care setting. You’ll bring:
A Veterinary degree and registration with the RCVS with experience working as part of a clinical veterinary team
Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise workload effectively
Clear and confident communication skills, with a collaborative approach to teamwork and a positive and proactive attitude to learning and development
An interest in evidence-based veterinary medicine and clinical best practice
Professionalism, resilience, and the ability to remain calm in a busy clinical environment
