This is a rare opportunity to lead a brand-new Out of Hours and Emergency service at All Pets Veterinary Hospital.
With our night team already in place and ready to go, we’re now looking for a Lead OOH Vet to take the reins, shape the service, and set the standard for emergency care in the region.
All Pets is already known for its strong clinical standards and collaborative culture - this is your chance to build something exceptional on that foundation.
As Lead OOH Vet, you’ll play a key role in:
Leading and supporting a dedicated night team
Driving clinical standards and best practice in ECC
Helping shape protocols, workflows, and the future of the service
Being a trusted clinical presence overnight
This is the ideal role for someone who enjoys autonomy but also wants to make a lasting impact in a growing service.
We know ECC can be demanding, that’s why this rota is designed with balance in mind:
7 nights on / 14 nights off
Shifts from 6/7pm – 8/9am depending on the day of the week
Averaging under 32 hours per week
You’ll have true downtime to rest, reset, and enjoy life outside of work without compromising on salary or clinical exposure.
You’ll be based in a well-equipped, modern hospital with access to:
Digital radiography & ultrasound
Fully equipped in-house lab
Surgical theatres & dedicated wards
The caseload is varied, rewarding, and ideal for a vet who thrives in emergency settings and enjoys clinical challenge.
You’ll be leading a skilled and supportive night team, backed by a large hospital team with expertise across multiple disciplines. This is a collaborative environment where ideas are welcomed, development is encouraged, and support is always there when you need it.
This role is ideal for an experienced, confident ECC or GP vet who:
Is comfortable handling emergencies independently
Enjoys leadership and mentoring others
Wants to be part of building and shaping a service
Is VCI registered and available to start in August 2026
ECC experience is beneficial, but a strong interest and the right mindset are key.
We recognise that our people are fundamental to the success of our business. Investing in our staff, premises and processes is at the heart of what we do. In addition to a competitive salary, you will also benefit from:
Enhanced Annual Leave entitlement
Birthday Leave (paid day off on your birthday)
Paid Maternity Leave Package
Paid Paternity Leave
Cycle to Work Scheme
Full access to EAP and Wellbeing Centre
Paid Bereavement Leave
Company Sick Pay
€1300 annual CPD allowance with 5 days paid CPD days pro rata
Funding of any Certificates / Diplomas / PhD’s you may want to pursue
Career Progression Opportunities, both clinical and non-clinical
VCI membership paid

Dedicated CARE fund – annual contribution of €1,100 from IVC Evidensia for each Vet to use on a case of your choice to ensure successful outcome with your patient (T&Cs apply)
Pawesome Benefits - reward gateway giving discounts and cashback with hundreds of retailers
Employer Pension Contributions
Free Flu Inoculations
Discounted Veterinary Fees
Opportunity to join company programmes (LGBTQ+, Wellbeing Champions, Clinical Board and many more)
