Vale Referrals are looking for an RVN to work across the 1st opinion and referral departments. This includes opportunities of rotating into 1st opinion surgery, wards, ophthalmology, soft tissue and orthopaedic surgery and medicine. There is also an option to rotate into nursing clinics if this is desired.
Work With Advanced Facilities
At Vale Vets and Referrals, we've recently expanded our hospital and now offer state-of-the-art facilities, including five theatres, a dedicated medicine suite for ultrasound and endoscopy, a dental room, x-ray, spacious wards with a separate cat ward and treatment room, as well as an exotics ward. We also have an onsite CT scanner to support advanced diagnostics.
Our team is comprised of 40 RVNs, SVNs, and hospital assistants. Many of our RVNs hold advanced diplomas and certifications, providing excellent support and learning opportunities for junior team members. We are committed to the growth and development of our staff, encouraging advanced qualifications and CPD courses.
We foster an evidence-based, no-blame culture, where every team member is encouraged to share their ideas and contribute to continuous improvement. Regular team meetings, critical event reviews, crash debriefs, and biannual 1-to-1 meetings ensure open communication and ongoing development within the team.
Providing a Work-Life Balance
The shifts are structured around a 40-hour week, with 5 x 8-hour days and a 30-minute lunch break. However, we’re committed to supporting a healthy work-life balance and are open to discussing part-time or compressed schedule options to suit your needs. The role includes 1 in 8 weekends, with time off in lieu, and minimal weekday on-call responsibilities.
What Skills You’ll Bring to The Team
We're seeking a motivated individual, eager to advance their nursing skills and knowledge in a busy, fast-paced setting. If you thrive on variety and enjoy a dynamic caseload where no two days are alike, this could be the perfect role for you.
While prior referral experience is a plus, it’s not required – we provide comprehensive training to help you succeed.
