At Swift Referrals, we’re more than a veterinary hospital, we’re a passionate, supportive team dedicated to delivering outstanding patient care. We’re delighted to invite applications from Registered Veterinary Nurses to join us as a dedicated Night Nurse, with opportunities available on both a full-time and part-time basis. We’re happy to discuss rota patterns that work best for you, whether that’s set shifts or a rolling rota.

The Role

We’re looking for a motivated and compassionate RVN to join our night team on a permanent basis. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your skills in emergency and critical care within a close-knit, supportive environment.

As a Night Nurse, you’ll play a key role in caring for first opinion and referral emergency cases and inpatients. You’ll work closely with emergency clinicians, vets, nurses and ACAs, managing ICU patients and hospitalised referrals while delivering the highest standard of nursing care. You’ll see a wide range of interesting and complex cases, with full support from our experienced team as you settle into the role.

About Swift Referrals

Opened in 2019, Swift Referrals is a purpose-built, multidisciplinary referral hospital specialising in orthopaedics, neurology, internal medicine and soft tissue surgery. Our state-of-the-art facilities include MRI, CT, advanced imaging, modern theatres, separate dog and cat wards, and a dedicated ECC and OOH centre with a large ICU.
With a team of over 80 colleagues, we are proud of our strong focus on wellbeing and the consistently positive feedback from our team satisfaction surveys.

About You

We welcome applications from RVNs of all experience levels — attitude and aptitude are what matter most, and full training and support will be provided. Emergency or out-of-hours experience is desirable, and additional qualifications are an advantage. Most importantly, you’ll share our values and commitment to delivering exceptional patient care with integrity and compassion.

Working pattern

We’re open to both full-time and part-time applications and are happy to discuss flexible rota patterns to suit individual preferences. This could include set night shifts or a rolling rota, depending on what works best for you and the team. Our aim is to create a working pattern that supports a healthy work–life balance while ensuring excellent patient care.
