We have a rare opportunity for a Rotating Nurse to join our team at Pride Veterinary Referrals on a fixed-term contract until June 2025. With an interest in developing your clinical nursing skills, you'll have the chance to work in a state-of-the-art referral hospital and be part of a supportive and experienced team.

As a Rotating Nurse, you will thrive in a diverse and multi-disciplinary referral environment, working across various disciplines including Medicine, Neurology, Surgery, Wards, Ophthalmology, Dermatology, Cardiology, Imaging and first opinion theatre. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve a wide range of tasks such as: monitoring sedations/anaesthetics; providing exceptional inpatient care; assisting with imaging procedures (x-ray/ultrasound/CT/MRI); contributing to transfusion medicine; supporting diagnostic procedures; and managing admits/discharges. Additionally, you'll be involved in drug calculations, fluid calculations, and CRI administration.

Pride Veterinary Referrals is equipped with industry leading facilities and advanced diagnostic tools, ensuring that our patients receive the highest level of care. With 13 consultation rooms, 7 hospital wards, 5 theatres, a comprehensive imaging suite (CT, MRI & digital x-ray), 3 ultrasound rooms, an endoscopy suite, hydrotherapy pool and treadmills, and dedicated chemo & radio-iodine treatment rooms, our facilities provide an exceptional care environment. Our in-patient wards are large, air-conditioned, well-equipped and meet the highest RCVS and ISFM standards. In addition, dedicated canine and feline procedure rooms are provided so that examinations and minor procedures can be performed away from the other patients.

While we prioritise clinical excellence and gold-standard patient care, we maintain a friendly and supportive culture within the team.

To succeed in this role, you must be a qualified RVN, ideally with at least 1 year of post-graduation experience, as some aspects of the role involve independent work. While referral experience is desirable, we provide comprehensive training to support your success. Any additional qualifications, such as certificates, are advantageous, and you should be able to demonstrate clinical competence in standard nursing protocols.

Our Rotating Nurse will work on average 38hrs/week, over a 4-day working week. You will usually cover a mix of 08:00-17:30, 08:30-18:00 and 08:30-19:00 shifts during the week, plus a 1:6 weekend rota in our wards department (Saturday & Sunday, 07:45-18:00). Approximately 1 Friday in every 8 weeks, you will cover the Twilight shift which is a 3pm-12am + on-call for the rest of the evening, supplemented as overtime if called out.
