As a Surgical Referral Nurse, you will deliver advanced nursing care to complex cases within a referral hospital environment, supporting patients, clients, and clinical teams across a range of disciplines. 

You’ll work as part of a multidisciplinary team, contributing to high standards of nursing care, supporting clinical decision-making, and sharing your experience and knowledge with colleagues to continually improve patient outcomes and service delivery. 

This is a full-time role of 40 hours per week, worked on a rotating 8-week shift pattern. Standard shifts range from 7:00am to 8:00pm, with a dedicated scrub week (Tuesday–Friday, 8:00am–6:00pm, Monday off). The role also includes participation in an on-call rota.

 

 

 

 

 

 

You are an experienced Registered Veterinary Nurse with interest in anesthesia and surgery and a passion for referral-level care. You’ll bring: 

Registration as a Veterinary Nurse with the RCVS 
Significant experience in clinical practice with advanced nursing skills relevant to your discipline 
Experience working with complex medical or surgical cases in a referral or advanced-care setting 
Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams 
A commitment to evidence-based practice, clinical governance, and continuous improvement
