An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Veterinary Nurse to join our team here at Ardene House Vet Practice Ltd, Kingswells Hospital!
This is a permanent full-time role but job share/part-time will be considered. The successful applicant will work an average of 35 hours a week. Monday to Friday the shifts are varied between the hours of 8am and 7.30pm. Saturday cover is 8am-4pm shared on a rota basis, currently 1:8 (with a day in lieu given when a Saturday is worked). All general nursing duties to be undertaken including anaesthetic monitoring, inpatient care, radiography, in house lab testing and nurse consults. Experience of CT scanner would be an advantage but not essential. Nurse consults include weight management, Pet Health Club checks. Candidates are expected to maintain high clinical standards and undertake infection control measures. You will not be required to cover OOH, however, if an emergency arises and extends after surgery hours the successful applicant must be willing to stay on if required.
Ardene House at Kingswells is an RCVS accredited hospital. We have separate teams for each area of the practice: small animal, equine and farm. Our small animal team are a dedicated group of professionals, who are supportive of each other as well as the animals in our care. The environment is busy, positive, and rewarding.
We have an extensive range of services and up to date equipment available, including in-house laboratory diagnostics, digital radiographic imagery, ultrasonography, CT scanning and video endoscopy. The hospital hosts two surgical operating theatres, a dental suite, pharmacy, separate intensive care and isolation units, and individual cattery and kennel wards. We have a smaller branch practice situated within the Bridge of Don Asda shopping area. At Bridge of Don, we carry out personalised vet and nurse health checks, diagnoses and treatment of medical cases. Our small animal team comprises of 11 SA Veterinary Surgeons, 12 RVN, 3 ACA, 3 SVNs, 5 receptionists.
