Consult Only Veterinary Surgeon
The Rowe Veterinary Group, Bradley Stoke
Salary up to £60,000 (FTE) depending on experience
We understand that flexibility and doing what you enjoy is essential to maintaining a long and happy career. We are recruiting for a consult only role offering flexibility in terms of hours and shift patterns. We are looking for someone who could work between 3 and 5 days per week working ideally 9AM-3PM, mornings are essential, but your rota could be flexible to suit which can be discussed at interview. There are no weekend requirements for this role unless you want the opportunity to join our first opinion team covering our own daytime emergencies at the hospital.
Why choose us?
Our team at the hospital is very focused on coaching and development and we have several vets with further training in this area. We encourage personal development (including funding certificates where desired) and are happy to spend time training our vets in hospital work, ultrasound, surgery, dentistry, or whatever interests you! We encourage a collaborative working culture where we share ideas and support each other. Several of our vets have Certificates in medicine and surgery, whilst others are currently working towards them. We enjoy supporting our new graduates and have EMS students on a regular basis enabling us to give back to the veterinary community. We have made several changes to ensure vets are able to take lunch breaks and leave on time; these include employing twilight vets, removing the last consult of the day, structuring rotas to allow for admin time and driving a culture that challenges, rather than champions, staying beyond your finish time.
About the Team and Culture
Our tier 3 RCVS-accredited hospital provides excellent facilities including digital x-ray, dental x-ray, CT, MRI, ultrasound, endoscopy and more. We pride ourselves on clinical excellence whilst also providing a patient-appropriate, compassionate service for our clients. As part of the team at Rowe, you will benefit from access to our referral department who offer services in Medicine, Ophthalmology, Surgery, Oncology, Orthopaedics, Imaging, Neurology and Dentistry. We also have our own dedicated and experienced OOH team providing continuity for patients.
Our Ideal Person
We are looking for someone with a passion and drive for consulting as you will see everything from sick pet emergencies as well as all your routine general practice appointments seen at our hospital. You will become part of a large, collaborative team in a hospital environment.
