Tern Vets are looking for a dedicated Farm Veterinary Surgeon to join our team. The day to day duties include ambulatory farm calls, Dairy, Beef and sheep. We have a varied caseload from larger dairy herds to smallholders.

The successful candidate will be going out to farms and talking with farmers. They won't just treat sick animals but will also chat with farmers about how to keep their animals healthy in the long run. We're looking for someone who can explain things well and work together with farmers to make sure their animals stay well. It's not just about fixing problems but also about preventing them. This role is all about helping farms be successful and keep their animals in good shape.

About our great practice

We are a practice who pride ourselves in building relationships with the local community, providing an outstanding clinical service and creating a friendly supportive working environment.

We are a predominantly a dairy practice utilising all the usual software and equipment including Interherd, Total Vet, Easiscan, EEJ, a full in-house lab (culture, microscopy, and biochemistry) to provide a bespoke, professional service to our progressive and friendly farm clients.
We also have a large number of beef and sheep clients as well as an increasing number of smallholders.

We are a small, supportive farm practice and benefit from the support of IVC Farm Vet Network. We have a good relationship with other local practices to help keep Out of Hours Work manageable. We employ full time TB testers (Veterinary and non-veterinary) to ensure our Vets can enjoy the diversity of farm practice and develop expertise alongside specific clinical interests with further study/ qualifications encouraged and supported.

Based on the Shropshire / Cheshire/ Staffordshire border we are also in a beautiful rural location with easy access to the M6 and the Hills of North Wales.
