Veterinary Surgeon
Highcliff Veterinary Practice, Brantham
Up to £75,000 DOE plus £7500 Welcome Bonus and £5000 Relocation Allowance!

Highcliff Vets are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic veterinary surgeon to join our team on a permanent basis.  Ideally you will be a small animal vet who is confident with routine medical and surgical cases and is looking to progress in their career. We see the full spectrum of first opinion (predominantly cat and dog caseload) cases so vets could expect a surgical caseload to include neutering, mass removals, dentistry, basic ophthalmic surgery etc alongside a small number of exotic pets. We actively encourage all our staff to develop their own areas of interest including support and funding to study for certificates if so desired.

Work life balance that works for you

We offer flexible working patterns that flex with you and your lifestyle. Whether you are looking to flex your rota hours to balance the school holidays, fix to navigate the school runs or just looking to strike that balance between home and work life. We can offer flexibility that actually works for you. Our vets usually work between the hours of 8.30am – 7pm with most full time choosing to work their hours over 4 days however we believe in offering flexible working and can a range of options including but not limited to; full time / part time / consulting only roles. This role does have a share in our 1:3 Saturday morning rota however there is no OOH requirement.

Be part of delivering clinical excellence

Highcliff is a long-established veterinary practice that has been serving the local community for over 100 years.  Our Brantham branch is based near the pretty market town of Manningtree.  We are only a short drive from the beautiful Suffolk and North Essex coast offering opportunities for a wide range of leisure activities.
The practice is just 20 minutes from the lively riverfront town of Ipswich and the city of Colchester with its iconic Roman castle and historic city centre. London is just a short train ride away from the station in nearby Manningtree.

Our Brantham surgery is spacious and was purpose built for the practice in 1999 to serve the local area before being extended in 2016. It provides a modern clinical environment with all the latest equipment and facilities you would expect including air conditioning throughout, digital radiography & dental x-rays, ultrasound and video endoscopy, multiparameter monitoring and a therapeutic class IV laser.  We are proud to be a RCVS GP status accredited practice, have achieved cat friendly status and are a Nurse Training practice.

Find your people

Our fantastic team comprises 8 knowledgeable and friendly RVNs, 1 SVN, a dedicated practice support team and our 3 highly experienced veterinary surgeons. We work closely in collaboration with our Hadleigh colleagues who include an Advanced Practitioner in Diagnostic imaging and a skilled orthopaedic surgeon.  We are passionate about supporting the personal and professional growth of our staff and their wellbeing is at the core of our business. We offer high quality medicine, a varied caseload with clinical freedom in a supportive and close-knit team. One of our joint CD’s Sarah Cooper is our Area lead in Clinical Benchmarking as well as a moderator for RCVS GDP.
