IVC Evidensia is delighted to share that Claire Phillips, Veterinary Surgeon and Equine Clinical Director at Wright and Morten Vets, has been named Vet of the Year at the Petplan Awards 2025.
With more than 41,000 nominations from friends, colleagues, and clients, the Petplan Awards remains one of the most prestigious honours in the veterinary community, recognising only the very best.
The Petplan Vet of the Year award celebrates a veterinary professional who demonstrates outstanding clinical expertise and consistently goes above and beyond their duty to ensure the highest level of service.
Claire’s recognition not only shines a light on a talented individual, but serves as an example of the incredible commitment of IVC Evidensia practice colleagues across the UK, as the group reflects on another year of delivering exceptional veterinary care.
Claire has been with Wright and Morten Vets for over two decades, having first started as a new vet graduate. Following key interests in lameness and soft tissue surgery, Claire later completed an advanced certificate in equine orthopaedics.
Becoming a partner in 2014, Claire shares now responsibility for running the equine side of the practice and is dedicated to developing the clinic and in-patient care services. Alongside these duties, she continues balancing her clinical side as the practice’s main equine surgeon and often leads lameness workups.
Claire humbly shared thanks to her team: “My entire 23-year career has been in this practice, and it has become my way of life. I would like to thank my team for all the support they have given over the years, and hopefully we will continue for many more.”
Wright and Morton Equine also shared a heartwarming message congratulating Claire on their social media pages: “This is a massive achievement and reflects Claire's dedication and drive to provide the best possible care for horses and ponies over her career. We could not be prouder!”
The award was presented to Claire at a glittering awards ceremony on Thursday, 20 November, which took place on the first evening of London Vet Show.
