Farm Vets Donate £2000 Community Grant to Farms for City Children

December 30, 2024

As the giving season ends and the new year begins, it’s the perfect time to reflect on the impact of charitable action. Recently, Farm Vets made a significant contribution to Farms for City Children, donating £2,000 through the Community Grants Fund.

The IVC Evidensia Community Grants Fund gives clinical teams across the network the opportunity to make a real difference in their local communities. Since 2021, the Community Grants Fund has supported over 140 local and national charities. Donations have gone to animal welfare, homelessness, mental health, and more.

This generous donation will help fund vital programs that give children from deprived areas the chance to escape their daily struggles. Farms for City Children offers a transformative experience on one of its three farms, surrounded by beautiful countryside.

For many children, this donation can facilitate a space to step outside their daily struggles, learn new skills, and grow in confidence.

Growing charity partnerships through Farm Vets

Alongside the £2000 donation, Regional Head of Farm Navaratnam Partheeban stated that the Farm team will continue to support the charity. They’ll offer advice and training to their farm team, lead sessions with their beneficiaries, and hold IVC Evidensia Farm challenge events to raise money for the charity. He went on to say:

“We have a new charity working group within IVC Evidensia Farm with charity champions to help drive our partnership with Farms for City Children, and there will be also co-branded materials at most of our farm practices so that we can get our farmers involved with supporting the charity.”

“One farm is a client of Oak Farm Vets in West Wales and I recently visited their Gloucestershire farm to have a look around and meet the team.”

A huge thank you from Farms for City Children

On behalf of the charity, Susannah Mair, Corporate Fundraising Manager, extended a heartfelt thanks to the IVC Evidensia Farm team. She said:

“This contribution is particularly significant because it not only sustains our mission but also represents the beginning of what we hope will be a long-term partnership. We’ve seen first-hand the transformative impact these residentials have on the young people who visit us, and your generosity plays a vital role in making that possible.

“Looking ahead, I’m excited about the opportunity to align with IVC Evidensia on initiatives that connect marginalised young people to careers in agriculture and beyond.”

Farms for City Children
