Pet Health Club cat microchipping campaign gains national attention

May 13, 2024

With just a month to go until the new cat microchipping law comes into force, Holly House vet Amelia Battersby has been making waves across national and regional media, and in turn highlighting a key benefit of Pet Health Club, which is owned by IVC Evidensia.

Explaining why microchipping is so important for cats, Amelia’s appearances have helped raise awareness of the change in legislation and how PHC members get microchipping as part of their benefits.

Amelia’s appearances on TV, radio, and in newspapers were designed to coincide with the one-month deadline. They were also hooked on a survey of 1,000 cat owners conducted by Censuswide for PHC, which revealed compelling statistics about cat microchipping.

The data showed that one in eight cat owners are still unaware of the upcoming law change, risking fines and the safety of their pets, while almost one in four haven’t yet microchipped their cat.

The survey caught the attention of several major news outlets, including the BBC, GB News, and regional newspapers such as Wales Online.

The visibility gained through these efforts is part of PHC’s mission to ensure that every cat owner is informed and prepared, and Amelia's media appearances have brilliantly conveyed the benefits of microchipping.

You can find out more about microchipping through a newly created cat microchipping hub, available now on the PHC website.
