Can you tell us about yourself and how you came to work at Amical Vets?

I've dedicated my entire adult life to the veterinary sector, starting from reception work two evenings a week. Over the years, I've transitioned through various roles, including training and support at head office, operations, and area support. I'm genuinely proud to be part of IVC Evidensia because I share their values and I am thankful for the ongoing support and recognition we are provided.

What motivates you to work in the veterinary industry?

Growing up surrounded by animals, pursuing a career in the veterinary industry felt natural. I love to see the advances in care that we offer and  the dedication of my colleagues.

Can you tell us more about the practice and what it’s like to work there?

The team is very friendly and welcoming. We support each other through the good times and the sad, which is always a part of working in animal care. The dedication and passion shown by our team inspire me daily.

What types of cases do the team see at the practice?

We see a real mix of cases here, from tiny puppies to elderly Great Danes, parrots and rabbits, we are proud to be able to treat most of these cases in-house whether surgical or medical, however, we also have a huge network of specialist referrals should we need to refer the case. Being part of IVC Evidensia means we can liaise closely with other practices also in the network, which can be really useful.

What are your favourite things about working at Amical Vets?

The team and the clients. The team are so inspiring, and I am proud to say I am their Practice Manager. The clients of Amical are wonderful too, being a small market town, we are in the heart of the community, with clients often popping in for a cup of tea!

What do you enjoy about the local area?

March is a lovely little town, with plenty of shops and restaurants (and pubs!) There is always something to do and the local countryside is stunning.

What do you enjoy doing outside of work?

I enjoy training both my own dogs and for owners, I also lightly show my spaniels. Seeing friends is always high on my to do list too!
