IVC Evidensia has opened two new Academy Training Centres at Vets Now in Dunfermline and Blaise Referral Hospital in Birmingham, aiming to deliver 20,000 hours of Continuous Professional Development (CPD) this year.
The new Training Centres offer vet professionals access to tailored courses designed to enhance their skills and expertise, reflecting IVC Evidensia’s strong commitment to CPD.
The concept was driven by Director of Professional Culture, Daniella Dos Santos, who shared her thoughts on the opening:
“We are delighted to have opened our new Training Centres. This initiative has been a long-held ambition, and it’s an exciting opportunity to initially transform the training and development experience for our teams, and in time, for the whole profession.”

The new Training Centres feature wet labs tailored for surgical and dental training, as well as modern x-ray rooms and seminar workshops. These spaces facilitate a range of specialised training opportunities, providing both practical experience and theoretical learning.
Inside, rooms are equipped with cutting-edge audiovisual equipment, such as ceiling mounted cameras, allowing clinicians to host lectures. Other tools include phantom models for abdominal ultrasound training and advanced simulators for practicing echocardiography.
Courses cater to all experience levels, from foundational to advanced, offering high-quality veterinary training in both clinical and non-clinical skills. Each training centre also has a dedicated Training Coordinator, ensuring streamlined training and personalised support for all attendees.
Courses are primarily taught by IVC Evidensia clinicians, with external experts set to join, expanding opportunities for specialised veterinary training.
Alongside tailored CPD for vets, the centres are delivering training to first-opinion teams following IVC Evidensia’s upcoming Care Frameworks. Developed by the Small Animal Clinical Board (SACB), Care Frameworks fuse published evidence with clinical expertise to provide teams with point-of-care tools for common conditions. These courses will teach essential techniques for delivering evidence-based care, ultimately working to improve animal lives.
In addition, the centres aim to enhance development and learning opportunities for graduates on the Academy programme. From entering the Academy, graduate vets will now have access to all new equipment within training facilities dedicated to their learning.
Daniella adds:
“These centres will allow us to provide tailored training, whether you’re just starting your career or you’re looking to develop new skills and techniques. The training will help us deliver exceptional care for pets and their owners by ensuring our colleagues and eventually the wider profession continue to grow and develop their expertise.”
While the Training Centres are currently exclusive to IVC Evidensia colleagues, the group is aiming to grant industry-wide access later this year. This will empower veterinary professionals from across the UK to seek new learning opportunities and grow their expertise.
Daniella explains:
“The Training Centres are not just about our own teams – our aim is to help strengthen the profession as a whole. We have such phenomenal people with such incredible expertise within our business.”
“By eventually opening these centres to everyone, we can help raise the standard of care across the industry and ensure that every pet, wherever they are, receives the best possible care.”
IVC Evidensia is committed to delivering Continuous Professional Development through IVC Evidensia Academy, ensuring the highest standard of veterinary care. Its latest investment in two state-of-the-art veterinary training centres will soon provide the entire veterinary community with access to tailored CPD opportunities.
