Taverham Vets has completed its highly anticipated £1.5 million expansion, doubling the size of its Norfolk-based Taverham Veterinary Hospital, and introducing a state-of-the-art CT service.
Taverham Veterinary Hospital, one of three Taverham Vets sites, forms part of the IVC Evidensia Referrals network, providing a range of exceptional small animal services.
As the only RCVS-accredited Small Animal Veterinary Hospital in Norwich, this investment ensures specialist referral services remain accessible for pets across the region. This comes after Taverham Vets experienced a surge in cases and an increased demand for specialist veterinary services.
Following the completion of its 240sqm expansion, the Norfolk hospital now features two theatres, an isolation ward, and two additional consultation rooms. Dedicated dog and cat wards have also been added to accommodate more inpatients, while existing kennels have been extended to further improve facilities.
By establishing space for a new CT scanner, Taverham Vets has enhanced their veterinary hospital’s diagnostic capabilities and facilitated a new CT service for patients. Additionally, its new purpose-built dentistry suite and orthopaedic theatre offer dedicated, well-equipped spaces for veterinary teams to deliver specialist care.
The hospital expansion has also benefitted Norwich Night Vet, a local veterinary out-of-hours service run by Taverham Vets. Its new purpose-built triage and treatment area offers a calm, well-equipped space for emergency care.
Speaking about the expansion, Tom Robertson, Clinical Director at Taverham Veterinary Hospital, said:
“Our goal was to meet the growing demand for specialist services while reinforcing our commitment to providing the highest quality of patient care and a seamless referral experience for pets and their owners.
“With the addition of the CT scanner and the other upgrades we have been able to make, we’re well positioned to offer a broad range of services and treatments to ensure the best outcomes for our patients.”
IVC Evidensia is committed to continuous investment in its veterinary hospital facilities and technology, providing modern buildings and cutting-edge equipment as part of its People Promise to be a great place to work.
