A preview of IVC Evidensia at London Vet Show 2025

IVC Evidensia will return as an exhibitor to London Vet Show (LVS), one of the most anticipated veterinary industry events of the year, on Thursday 20 and Friday 21 November at the ExCel London. 

Building on last year’s busy schedule, we’re excited to feature a range of experts from across the IVC Evidensia network throughout the two-day event. All presentations will be held in the IVC Evidensia Theatre which will be located at our stand, U70

Day One will focus on the evolving world of veterinary care, with talks exploring how research and quality improvement translate into real-world care, the current landscape of diversity and inclusion within the profession, contextual animal welfare topics, in addition to highlighting the importance of sustainability. 

Day Two will shift to more of a clinical focus, with referral clinicians taking to the stage to present case-based talks designed to support decision-making in both general practice and emergency settings. 

London Vet Show - Day One (Thursday 20 November) 

09:30 – 10:30 

Group Quality Improvement Director, Laura Playforth, and Group Head of Clinical Research, David Singleton, will bring together QI and Research as they begin our stream of talks with ‘From evidence to impact - How Research becomes real-world care’. 

10:50-11:50  

Director of Professional Culture, Daniella Dos Santos, Regional Head of Farm, Navaratnam Partheeban OBE, and Dr Mandisa Greene, Medical Director at Vets Now and Chair of the IVC Evidensia Ethnic Diversity Scholarship Board come together to discuss diversity within the veterinary industry in ‘Diversity & Inclusion in the profession - Is the job done?’. 

12:10-13:10  

Sarah Heath, Group Sustainability & ESG Director and Laura Gelder-Robertson, CEO of Vet Sustain will discuss the long-term importance of sustainability as they present ‘Discover the quadruple bottom line: Unlocking the future of veterinary sustainability in your practice across animals, people, planet and business.’ 

13:50-14:50  

Group Director of Animal Welfare, David Martin and UK Veterinary Welfare Advisor and Veterinary Surgeon/GP, Richard Sinclair, will present ‘Consultation room to courtroom’ which will explore the legal implications of clinical decisions and animal welfare concerns. 

15:10-16:10  

Group Director of Animal Welfare, David Martin and UK Veterinary Welfare Advisor and Veterinary Surgeon/GP, Richard Sinclair will then come together again to present ‘Sit, Stay, Think - Managing owner originated welfare problems in practice’, which will focus on how veterinary professionals can identify, and manage animal welfare issues that may arise because of owner behaviour. 

16:30-17:00 

Dr Janey Lowes, founder of our newest charity partner, WECare Worldwide, shares her experience practising veterinary medicine in resource-limited environments and how this can transform outcomes for both animal welfare and public health in ‘Vet Skills Where They Matter Most: On the Frontline with Roaming Dogs’. 

17:00 - Happy Hour  

On Day One those attending can also join us for a drink at the IVC Evidensia stand at 17:00 for Happy Hour before the event closes for the day. 

London Vet Show - Day Two (Friday 21 November) 

09:00-10:00  

Vale Referrals’ Internal Medicine Clinician, Sian Blakey, will begin Day 2 with ‘Approach to Pyrexia of Unknown Origin (PUO) - Fun day or worst nightmare’, and explore the challenges of diagnosing unexplained fevers in animals. 

10:20-11:20  

Beth Thomas, RVN VTS (SAIM) Internal Medicine Team Leader at Vets Now Referrals, will present ‘Care of the pyrexic patient - Practical considerations for nursing’. This session will cover the key considerations veterinary nurses need to keep in mind when caring for animals with elevated temperatures and will aim to equip veterinary nurses with the tools and confidence to provide high-quality care in these kinds of cases. 

11:40-12:40  

Advanced Practitioner and Clinical Director at Abington Park Referrals, Jamie McClement, will then present ‘Hot swollen joints - Differentiating OA, septic arthritis and IMPA’, which will guide attendees through the process of differentiating between these kinds of conditions and how to tailor treatment appropriately for each. 

13:20-14:20  

In ‘Hot neuro nightmares - and how to get by on a budget’, Blaise Referrals’ Referral Clinician in Neurology, Emma Suiter, will present a practical and engaging session on tackling challenging neurological cases. 

14:40 – 15:40  

Our final presentation of the day will be Bethan Warner from the Internal Medicine team at Swift Referrals, who will deliver ‘IMHA and ITP in a nutshell - What do I need to know in an emergency setting?’ with a focus on what veterinary professionals need to know when faced with these conditions in an emergency situation.
