IVC Evidensia celebrates five years of Positive Pawprint

January 27, 2026

Today we mark the ongoing impact of our Positive Pawprint sustainability strategy with our fifth annual report.

Through this, we also mark a significant achievement in five years of IVC Evidensia being a Force for Good – innovating, improving, and being transparent about how we care for people, patients, and the planet.

The progress we've made is significant, so we’d like to thank each and every one of our colleagues for playing their part.

Sustainability achievements 2025

Planet

Our reusable gowns trial with 35 participating practices helped save 2.2 tonnes of waste and we’ve avoided using over 100,000 single-use kennel liners by switching to reusable alternatives.

We’ve improved LED lighting and renewable power, with 22 sites generating power from rooftop solar panels.

We’ve made strides in low-flow anesthesia and explored new innovations to reduce theatre emissions with SageTech anaesthetic gas capture technology, which has captured 557 litres of volatile gases this year.

Patients

Our UK farm teams have reduced Category B antibiotic usage by 82% since 2021, leading the profession in protecting medicines critical for human health.

Our world-leading Care Frameworks have supported clinical decision-making to improve care for over 60,000 animals in FY25, and has now increased to more than 100,000.

The Care Fund has helped support 1773 animals and pet owners in the UK in 2025.

People

Two new Academy Training Centres opened in Dunfermline and Birmingham that have delivered 100 courses and welcomed 2,500 delegates at every stage of learning.

At least one Wellbeing Champion in over 50% of UK sites and over 500 Mental Health First Aiders retrained across our network, with a new app available for ongoing support.

We earned Top Employers certification in the UK for 2025, and we’re proud to be recognised again in 2026.

We supported 112 charities across the UK, donating £87,000 through our Local Community Grants.

Our scale makes this possible

Operating as a unified international network of more than 2,500 practices helps enable us to invest in the training, equipment, and systems that make sustainable care achievable everywhere. We can trial innovations like anesthetic gas capture technology and reusable surgical textiles and share what works. We can build Care Frameworks that improve both patient outcomes and responsible antibiotic use.

That's the advantage of scale when it's directed toward better care. Our More Complete Care clinical strategy provides the backbone - helping ensure that responsible practice is simply how we operate.
