Lifetime Achievement Award

John Dinsdale received a standing ovation on receiving IVC Evidensia’s first Lifetime Achievement Award in recognition of the clinical support he continues to provide to colleagues across the country. His award was introduced by Douglas Veitch, Regional Veterinary Director, who said: “John has been a stalwart for the veterinary profession for over 40 years. He has a passion for clinical standards, a voice for reason and a strong moral compass to positively evolve our profession.

“Conscientious, humble and a natural born leader he has provided support or advice to probably every single person who attended the Brilliant People Awards. A true gentleman, with an unwavering sense of respect, an even bigger heart and a strong voice bringing the clinical perspective to the direction of IVC Evidensia in the UK.”

Worthy winners

A further winner was Nicola Crompton-Hill (pictured), who won in the We Care (Non-Clinical) category. She commented on what the award-win meant to her: "I am delighted to be a winner in this year’s Brilliant People Awards. As a relatively new person into the world of veterinary, the recognition is very welcome, and I feel exceptionally valued for the work I contribute and the personal skills I bring into practice each day. Having a great passion for animals and people, my role as Practice Director has been from the very outset an amazing opportunity and experience.”
Chris Snow, Clinical Director at Chestnut Vets, won in his category of We Share (Clinical), and was happy to share the pride he felt for receiving the award: “Being nominated was great and then finding out I was in the top four was exciting, but I never thought I would win! It's great to realise that your efforts are recognised and rewarded.

“I think the awards are a really good way of acknowledging people’s effort and dedication in their roles which may be known within their practice but not necessarily by anyone else.”

Paige Holmes, Head Veterinary Nurse at Burch Tree Vets, shared the joy felt by the entire practice team as they won an award for Quality Improvement: “As a practice we were over the moon to win the Brilliant People Award as we have worked hard on making significant improvements across both our clinical and non-clinical work so to receive recognition of what we have achieved to date has spurred us on to continue looking for areas that improvements can be made.”

Reflecting on the awards ceremony, UK CEO Duncan Phillips, said: “A massive congratulations to all of our nominees and winners. Once again, I was blown away to hear all the extraordinary stories from across our group of how teams and individuals have gone the extra mile to support owners, each other and welfare outcomes for animals.

“It was particularly special to recognise John and all that he has done for the profession.  The reaction following his award presentation was testament to how much we all respect and appreciate his knowledge, guidance and friendship.

"All of our deserving winners should feel incredibly proud of their achievement.”
