We have a very exciting opportunity at Richmond House, and we can’t wait to welcome a new dynamic individual to join our amazing team in the role as a Senior Veterinary Surgeon! This role comes with a varied caseload, mentoring colleagues, enhancing, and setting clinical & professional objectives to achieve best practice in colleague, patient, and client care.
Working in this first opinion practice, day to day you would undertake a clinical role including surgery and consultations and play a crucial role in steering the practice towards excellence and growth together with our senior leadership team. We offer a balanced split between clinical and managerial duties, and we actively encourage and support leadership and development certificates.

Currently a typical full-time role would involve working 4 days per week (08:00 – 18:00) with no out of hours or bank holidays required.

We are a single site practice with huge potential and development opportunities, we are equipped with digital x-ray incorporating the services of SignalPET, ultrasound machine, dental machine, multi-parameter, in-house IDEXX laboratory machines and laboratory equipment. We’re always keen to invest in the practice and our team with additional kit and facilities and are proud to annoubce we are currently undergoing refurbishment.
Our proud team is composed of 1 experienced full time veterinary surgeon, 1 proactive registered veterinary nurse, 2 fantastic animal care assistants and 3 amazing, experienced support staff. The practice is also supported by Richmond’s committed Area Director and Area Support Manager so that you can hit the ground running from day one! We see this as a fantastic opportunity for someone to lay solid foundations and shape a bright future for the practice.
The practice is in the market town of Dewsbury which lies on the river Calder and on the arm of the Calder and Hebble Navigation waterway. Dewsbury is also dominated by hills, notably Earlsheaton, Dewsbury Moor, Staincliffe and Thornhill and has good transport links via bus and train to Leeds and Manchester City Centre. With local shopping centres, rivers, museums, restaurants, and country parks – there’s something for everyone within and close by to this beautiful town!
