Andy grew up in rural Northern Ireland and moved to the South East of England to study at the Royal Veterinary College (RVC), London. After graduating in 2002 he joined the Sussex Equine Hospital as its first Intern where he discovered his passion for surgery. After completing the internship he worked as an ambulatory vet in the south of the practice for 5 years.
Wanting to pursue a career in equine surgery he returned to the RVC in 2008 for a three year residency. Here he gained the RCVS Certificate in Equine Orthopaedic Surgery.
Andy is now a Diplomate of the European College of Veterinary Surgeons and an RCVS Registered Specialist in Equine Surgery.
In his spare time Andy is a keen triathlete. He can often be seen out running with his training partner Max, the springer spaniel.
