We are seeking an energetic and compassionate veterinary nurse to join our team and provide cover for a maternity role. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out general nursing duties, including clinics, anaesthesia, and patient care. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work in a supportive environment with a brilliant team and contributing to the well-being of our animal patients.
This is a full-time position offering 40 hours per week, although we can be flexible and offer as few as 35 hours. The role can be spread across 4 or 5 days per week, with a variety of shift patterns available between the hours of 8:30 am and 7:00 pm. Additionally, there is a 1:5 Saturday rota with Time Off In Lieu (TOIL) available for the following week, and the added benefit of no out-of-hours (OOH) or on-call duties.

We operate two long-standing small animal surgeries, situated in the charming towns of Melton Mowbray and Grantham, each boasting a loyal clientele spanning more than a decade. Melton Mowbray, affectionately known as 'Melton' by locals, is nestled in the picturesque county of Leicestershire, England. Renowned for its iconic Melton Mowbray Pork Pie and revered as the epicentre of Stilton Cheese production, the town proudly holds the title of 'Rural Capital of Food.' On the other hand, Grantham, is a market town straddling the border of Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire and is home to many historic sites, including Belton House and Belvoir Castle, offering an unforgettable day trip or weekend getaway.
Both practices are equipped with digital radiography, ultrasounds, and in-house blood testing equipment. We also have good-sized theatres and consult rooms for our varied first opinion cases.

Our practice thrives on the dedication and expertise of our team members, who form the very heart of our operation. Our team includes 5 highly skilled veterinary surgeons, 5 experienced registered veterinary nurses, 1 student veterinary nurse, 1 nursing assistant, and 3 welcoming receptionists. Whether it's providing critical assistance during emergencies or offering unwavering support in daily tasks, we support each other.

What You’ll Bring
We're seeking a qualified RVN with experience in first opinion veterinary care, capable of working independently during certain periods alongside a vet and receptionist. However, it's important to note that this role does not involve sole charge responsibility.
