Nadine started her journey into the career of veterinary nursing as a 14 year old attending work experience at a busy practice in Essex. She was offered the role of Saturday receptionist and once she finished school she began training as a veterinary nurse.
She qualified in 1992 and relocated from Essex to Norfolk in 1993 to Summerhill Veterinary Centre as their veterinary nurse. Thirty years on, she has enjoyed the process of change and has seen the practice grow from a 1 vet, 1 nurse practice to a busy team of 6 vets, 13 nurses, 2 VCA’s and a fabulous team of reception and admin staff.
She has enjoyed helping to develop the nursing team and nursing services, offering a range of nursing clinics, nurse packages and specialised nursing care including physiotherapy, behaviour, dentistry, nutrition whilst promoting fear free and cat friendly considerations.
Nadine is a clinical coach and has a specific interest in nurse training and nurse development. She holds a Certificate in Applied Animal Behaviour, (Southampton University) and a Diploma in Dog Psychology and enjoys offering behaviour services to clients. Her love of behaviour spurred her to start local puppy classes geared to introduce valuable life skills to pups so they may develop into confident dogs. She also competes and trains dogs for agility in her spare time, and has gained first class status as an approved agility instructor with the Agility Club. In 2004 she was awarded the PDSA Veterinary Nurse of The Year Award for promoting welfare.
She is very excited to be accepted onto the nursing board and looks forward to promoting the role of the veterinary nurse, to encourage other veterinary nurses to reach their full potential so that they may have increased job satisfaction, a higher level of self-worth and therefore see veterinary nursing as a lifelong fulfilling career.
Her practice, Summerhill Veterinary Centre, is a forward thinking practice, and are 100% small animal, offering complete veterinary care.
