Clinical Board Vice-chair

About Jane

Jane qualified as a veterinary surgeon from RVC, London in 1991. Her first job was in mixed practice, then a mixed practice locum, before setting up an 100% small animal, first opinion, veterinary practice in Norfolk in 1993, where she has worked ever since.

Despite having 2 children, Jane has had no career breaks. She has always had a special interest in surgery, but made sure she kept up to date with medicine, completing the Improve SAM two-year course in 2001. Jane qualified at a time where most surgery was performed in first opinion practice, allowing her to attain considerable experience. She has completed her GPCert (SAS), GPCert(EM&S) and GPAdvCert(SAOS), and is in the process of obtaining her Post-Graduate Diploma in Advanced Veterinary Practice Sciences, as well as RCVS Advanced Practitioner status.

Outside of work

My interests include:

Skiing (her son is a GB mogul skier, at World Cup level). Jane doesn’t ski as well as him as she learnt as an adult, but loves to get out on the slopes. She has met many people round the World and made many friends through this, so travel too is a passion.

Horse-riding, which she has done since a child, and owns 2 horses.

Running, Jane has completed the London Marathon twice. She also enjoys half marathons and more latterly Park Runs.
